Guest Resident: Sophia Ahmad for Monday Fundays

Shaun Keylock Company launches a new residency program this fall for dance artists to create and perform their work at our studio. We have extended the opportunity early to resident artist Sophia Ahmad for her new community program Monday Fundays.

Sophia Ahmad is a mover based in Portland exploring fundamentals and cultures embedded within contact improvisation, contemporary forms and capoeira. Relating to our mutual desire to provide a space for the community to gather safely, Sophia will disrupt the feeling of the Monday blues by holding space for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people to redirect our creative energies in order to come together and be present in the community, to collaborate and be heard.
